About the Speaker:

Desiree Spain

Desiree began her insurance career in 2000 and has gained experience in retail and wholesale broking, as well as holding operations and underwriting roles primarily in Property & Casualty lines of business. She has been with Beazley since 2013 working in both the London and Atlanta offices, and is responsible for underwriting Cyber and Technology Errors & Omissions for medium to large organizations across all industry classes in the US. Desiree holds the CPCU, ACII (UK), and RPLU professional designations.


Bill Helsley

Bill Helsley became a wholesale broker after a successful underwriting career working for Aetna Casualty and Surety, Travelers Casualty and Surety and Royal & SunAlliance, respectively.  With over twenty five years of experience in the financial services industry, Bill has become a specialist in mid to large commercial, healthcare and financial institution accounts focusing on the Management and Professional Liability insurance products. 


Bill has direct underwriting, marketing, manuscript contract drafting, program structure and claim experience with Directors and Officers Liability; Professional Liability and Errors and Omissions; Employment Practices Liability; Fiduciary Liability; Cyber Liability; Financial Institution Bonds; Crime Insurance; Kidnap/Ransom and Extortion; Commercial and Contract Surety Bonds; Excess SIPC Insurance; Net Asset Value Insurance; Representations and Warranties; and Unauthorized Trading Coverage.  With access to all of CRC’s markets, Bill has successfully negotiated deals for publicly traded, privately held and not-for-profit entities specializing in  financial institutions, private equity funds, hospital and allied healthcare companies,  biotechnology companies, real estate investment trusts, contractors, law firms, manufactures, education institutions, retail concerns and governmental entity clients.    


Bill is a Senior Vice President at CRC Group’s Professional Practice Group, where he manages a team of eight individuals dedicated to Management and Professional Liability lines of business.  He is currently a member of CRC’s ExecPro Practice Advisory Committee.
